I have an 8 month female gecko. I do not plan to breed her but I hear that she will still lay eggs. I just need to know the best substrate for this. My fear is if I don't provide her with what she needs she will get egg bound. Any advice would be great

If you were to breed her eggs, obviously you would need a male, but best thing for you to do is probably, if you don't already, is to keep your wet hide in there with some spag moss. Personally I would breed her because I regret not breeding my female now I can't introduce her to anyone. Hope this helps

Just a hide with an inch or two of coconut fiber or moss or both is good for this. =) I prefer coconut fiber.

Also, not all females will lay infertile eggs. Actually, I've never had a female that did when she wasn't bred. But it is still good to provide this in case she does.

To add to the poster above, there is quite a bit that goes into breeding. Time, space, money. So if you were to decide to breed (I realize you said you don't plan to), than definitely consider these things.
