Just a question, I have a three month old leo that seems to love the hot side of his enclosure. The temp is usually around 94 degrees, I've checked his under side and there are no signs of any problems (burns or anything else). Just wondering, I have heard that juveniles like the heat, but wanted to know if anyone thought the temp was too high?

That's a good temperature. They can't get burned at 94F. Our bodies are warmer than that.

But I hope it's the surface temperature you measured, and not the air. You need an infrared temp gun to measure. The surface is much hotter than the air on the warm side.

I am using a temp gun to measure the surface. :main_thumbsup:

Its a good temp, but make sure that you have hides they like on both sides, warm and cool. I found out that one of my females was really preferring a particular hide over all the others. It just so happened to be on the warm side. I experimented by switching the hides around and she would seek out and find that same hide no matter where I relocated it. I ended up buying one that was identical to it, plus a "reptile den" from ExoTerra. She now spends half the time in "her favorite one" and the "reptile den". She doesn't like the identical one to her favorite for some reason. All of the other geckos I have don't seem so particular about their hides, but she really is. I just thought I would mention this "hide-favoritism" in this thread just to make sure that owners are aware that this could be happening with certain individuals when it initially just seemed like temperature-favoritism to me. I hope that makes sense.

LOL! My Leo is the exact same way! From the day I brought him home he has LOVED this rock that I put in there. It's just a rock I found outside a long time ago. It's really rough and volcanic looking, but it's hollow on the inside, kind of like a cave. That is number 1. The moist hide comes in a VERY close second
