Best way to gut load crickets

I usually just put some potatoes and oranges in with the crickets if anyone has any tips on a better way I would appreciate it.

I have a local reptile food store and they ALWAYS have carrots in there. They say it hydrates them well and gut load them.

Potatoes and oranges are good for regular cricket food, but I wouldn't consider them to be "gut load". For gut load you want to pack in as much nutrition as possible, and for that you need more variety. Try a dry gut load and a wet gut load. Make the wet gut load with various fresh fruits and greens, and make the dry gut load with grains, seeds, and nuts such as oatmeal, almonds, walnuts, peanuts, flaxseeds, sesame seed, etc. They'll have to be ground up smoothly of course.
