I recently cleaned out and re"did" my leopards vivarium, ive got sand rocks and two water dishes, everything is adequite for him, but noticed that over all its a bit on the dry side. What is the best way to add a humid hide? Would i put a different substrate in it that retains moisture better than sand and rocks?

The best humid hide you can add consists of a tupper ware with a hole cute in the lid large enough for the gecko to get thru and some. Fill the taper ware about half way with moss, and add warm water. You should clean the moss pretty well before letting the gecko use it. Just rinse and ring out with hot water several times. Then ring out and put in the taper ware. The most should not be soaking wet, like i said just rinse with hot water and ring out the water.

yeah they get like that sometimes. My hatchling refused to be seen right now. She is hiding under the papertowels in her container lol. She has a tube hide, humidity hide box and water dish right now.

is it okay for them to be under the paper towels pretty often? We were afraid that our little one would suffocate, so we taped the paper towel down, but that caused even more problems. Should I just not worry so much if they get underneath?

when i had paper towels/ hospital things (blue) for flooring, my male would go under everynight and i couldnt pick him up easily to get him back up..then after 3 days i duct taped it down, 2 days later he worked at enough and got that down, then i'm like, forget this and switched to tile. NO MORE PROBLEMS!!!

My male was once stubbornly refusing to stop going under his towel. Every time I saw him do that, I gently pulled him out from under it. He started getting the hint after about a month of this and stopped.
