I just got my own mini fridge(not so mini though) for storing mealworms in.I have a couple questions as to keeping them as long as possible.

1.What temp should I set them at?

2.How big of container should I have for 5000 mealworms?

3.How often and for how long should I take them out to give them carrots/potatoes?

4.How much wheat bran substrate should I use?

Any other help is greatly appreciated.I have always lost way to many mealies before feeding them.I hope to change that. Thanks for any and all help!

I keep my mealies at the regular temp we keep the fridge 38-40 degrees. I take them out weekly to let them eat. I just set them out before I go to bed, then put them back in the fridge when I get up. To give them water I just toss a cut up potato in the box. I do take that out before putting them back in the fridge. I use about an inch of gutload in a container of 5000. I keep 5000 in a plastic shoe box. I did cut out a patch in the center and glued screen on that so there is air flow for them to breathe and to keep the gutload dry to prevent mold.

How long do they usually keep like this?
