OK, I am moving my Leos out of my room into a bigger cage in my living room. I don't like my room to be empty, and I really like betas, especially crown tails.

I have one male, but he is not anything special, just green and blue. but I have three other beta tanks that are not in use, and I have six huge containers of
" BETTA BITES " and " BETTA BITES COLOR ENHANCER ". So what are some cool color crown tails to look for? I personally like the faded red with the purple fins and the red and green ones. Also how do you breed them?!>!

I like the multi-colored ones... I've always just called them calico but I'm not sure of the real name for them. Here's a picture of my calico crowntail named Grissom.

This is my boyfriend's very normal blue and red guy, Xavier.

Maybe mine's a fantail? I got him for free off Craigslist after my roommate's Henry died. I think he's really pretty, though. (Maybe a 'calico'?) I've been trying to think of a name, maybe Ty? (For Tie Dye?).

Betas do much better with a heater (~75F-85F), if you don't have one. I have my guy in an extra 10g with a heater, thermometer, filter (not necessary for betas as they can breathe air, but helps keep the bacteria the right kind). I have no idea how to breed them, but I imagine you would at least have to have as basic a set-up as I do, and then all the different tanks for the adult betas and the babies (as they can't be together- in the wild they have huge territories, we keep them in tiny tanks, comparatively). Plus getting a non-inbred fish of good stock- well it's the same if not worse than getting anything else from a pet store.
