I know it really depends on the geckos but I have a 6-7 inch gecko and I have the chance to get another 18gram. They are both females. Do the size difference increase the chances they will not get along? Thanks
Most likely they wont get along but I have seen some people do it without any problems tho itsz not suggested. And most people would recommend that u quarantine a new gecko for around 60-90 days before they are housed together. Just in case if tha new one iz sick or has parasites u dnt wantah give it to ur other Leo u knw. Hope I was helpful!
Yes.
You should never house geckos of dissimilar size. The larger one may or may not be aggressive toward the smaller one, but can cause problems just the same.
Also, you should quarantine any new geckos for at least 90 days before introducing them to an existing gecko.
In terms of weight or size?? (Grams or Inches??) In weight a few grams apart wont really be bad but in size... Im not really sure. obviously the closer they are in size the better but hopefully someone with more knowledge could answer this better than I could.
I don't think there is a real guideline to what is too much a difference. Use good judgement, if the smaller of them is 75+% the size of the larger one I would think it is safe. Obviously don't mix someone half the size. Even if they get along, more than likely the smaller one will be bullied for food.
It strongly depends on the geckos. Some big ones will care for little ones, and some big ones will bully little ones. If you want to try after quarantine period is over, you can, just watch closely to make sure both are eating and the little one doesn't appear stressed. Be prepared to separate just in case.
