All of them are Blackies babies. This year will be the first year we can make sibling pairings to prove the back gene out.

We also have this two out breeding offsprings but they are way to young yet and have to grow 30 grams more befor we can use them in our breeding stock.

The father is a tang enigma het bell.

-Blackie is thanking you all for the compliment!

Chris and Linda; We have no idea about when we can offer the first black babies for sale. First we have to see what the sibling parings bring us 2009.

Stanley: No, not what I know of.

so with the F3 Breedings. what did you cross with blackie to get that variety of coloration. i see some with very dark markings/body color while others (the bottom 2) appear normal with very minimal dark body color.

I'm very fasinated by your animals they are very pretty and just trying to understand myself what, if at all, the genetic coding is on it.

Thanks,

Ryan

Also just out curiosity were all the eggs put in the incubator set to hatch male and females or the males that you got went specifically into a male incubator?

I'm not trying to be harsh or anything i'm very curious and i love what you are doing.

Thanks,

Ryan

I started with Blackie and a half brother to her (same father). He is a normal colour jungle.
I wanted to hatch 1/3 (male/female) the first year. She was a virgin (at 8 years old) and she just laied 4 eggs and just one doughter hatch that year.
The next year she laied 16 eggs and I got this 2 males and a few more. The others didn't had as bold pattern as the two males I picked out to do the inbreeding with. I've sold two males and 4 females. All of the breeders I showed has the same mother and father.

I use the same temp in the incubator as I do when I hatch all my other leopardgeckos but it seems a little harde to get males. I've hatch 2-3 female on male temp (32 C).
They also grow slower. Spirit is 1.5 year and only 40 grams. I have to wait even longer to let her meet his mate.

This year was a night mare. The incubator got mad and I had to throw lots of eggs away so I just got 3 good ones and one male was hatched of the pairing Blackie x Thunder. I can take a new oictur of their son to show you. He is just normal looking.
The other two eggs was the enigma and the hypo.

My boyfriend wants blackie, lol. He has a shirt that says, "I am just wearing black till they invent something darker". Needless to say he is a black lover. XD
