Bleeding after mating

Recently I bred my female Nova leopard gecko with my male Gem Tug Snow leopard gecko. i left them in the tank together for 2 or 3 days. Yesterday I noticed dried blood on their paper towel so I separated them immediately. They both have no signs of fighting. I looked under my males vent area and right next to the two bulges they have I saw a little bit of blood. There was no sign of an organ or something like that sticking out, should I take him to the vet. I don't know what to do please help me:)

I would say if there is no obvious sign as to where it came from just keep an eye on him for a few days, if it happens again take him to the vets.

Isn't there a chance of prolapse after mating? Question for those with experience: Is it possible that there was temporary prolapse...and the part "hanging out" left a mark on the paper towel before he reabsorbed it? (I saw this in a youtube mating video a few weeks ago...after mating, I saw the red "stuff" and he licked it until it appears to "slide back in")

yes that is possible. if this was the case there is a big chance it would happen again. keep an eye on him for a few days

If a male prolapse's once and reabsorbs, should he be "retired" from mating? (I know this isn't my thread, but I am researching/learning)

Most reptiles have 2 or 3 hemipenes. This enables them to mate again with another female while resting the recently used hemipenis. Males mate for life and does not retire as they don't undergo andropause like mammals do
