Blind Gecko? Tail issues?

I have a Mack Snow Engima Male, who is having some troubles.
He spends most day/night in his humid hide, and I recently seperated him from a female he was living with only for about 3 weeks (My tank had broke and I needed to have them together until I could buy a new one)
Since I got him, his tail has not grown any thicker, even though I feed about 25-35 crickets a week plus mealworms.
My cricket order was messed up, so they did not eat last week, and yesterday I went to feed since he was split up. I saw him looking at them (In that cute attack mode) through the humid hide, and I have noticed some missing, but not much.
I dont think its the seperation because the female was a very good eater, and I am pretty sure she just took his share.
Its just when I pick him up, he acts strange (Like he doesn't know whats going on) and when I went to hand feed him a cricket he didn't even look, like he couldn't see.
It would explain why he does't move around much (Even though he is in a 20 gallon)

This is a photo taken when I first got him, and the tail is the EXACT same..not bigger or skinnier. It just makes me worried.

My mack enigma did the same thing when I got him, he wouldn't get any fatter even though he ate loads, he was stuck at around 19g, but now hes boosted to almost 40, give it some time, if you notice deterioration then start to get worried, for the moment, Just keep doing what your doing.

Thanks. I think I will get some roaches too, I usually only reserve them for breeding females but maybe it will help.
I counted..I gave him 50 crickets yesterday an there is 38 still in the tank. :/
