I have been wondering for some time is it possible for Non-Blizzard to have the Blizzard Eclipse eyes? Also if the can carry the Blizzard Eclipse gene would that make the gecko with the Blizzard Eclipse eyes het for Blizzard or homo without expressing the Blizzard gene. this has been on my mind for a while and thought i would see what you all think. thanks for all your replies.

as far as i know the eclipse eye that the blizzards sometime express cannot be separated from each other.

In 2006 I hatched several solid eyed Mack Snows from 'snake eyed' Blizzard x Mack Snow het Bell. All, but one had their eyes turn normal. The odd one out retained 'snake eyes' into adulthood. I believe it had something to do with the Blizzard eye gene combining with the Mack Snow gene. After all of these years, I will be breeding one of the '06 Macks to an 'eye gene' BBB. We'll see what happens...

There was also a gecko posted fairly recently by a beginner breeder that was a slid eyed Mack Snow. I feel they fabricated part of their story because they just didn't understand how they could've hatched a gecko like that. The pairing was a SS 'eclipse' Blizzard x 'eclipse eyed' SHCT. The gecko also happened to look just like my Funky Jungles and the first Funky Jungles were in that group of 2006 'solid eyed' babies I mentioned above!

So albeit rare, it is possible to separate the gene from Blizzards. If I make any from the above mentioned pairing I will definitely pursue it this time around!
