There is some kind of "relationship" going on between the two...

All of the ones posted here originally hatched with solid black eyes. They have faded considerably, but still have some black pigment...

Male I produced last year from Snake Eyed Blizz x MS het Bell...

Sorry for not getting into these guys more last night...

I recently posted that I had several "Snake Eyed" Mack Snows, well after seeing the new close-ups I saw that was no longer true. I assumed they'd have "behaved" similarly to the one I hatched last year, where it started with solid black (Eclipsed*) eyes , faded to half solid black/half normal (Snake Eye) and remained that way...

Like I mentioned in the first post, they still have various degrees of "black tinting" (I finally like the term Gazz). On the contrary, of the 4 Blizzards I've hatched from this project, 3 still have solid black (Eclipsed) eyes while just one has half solid black/half normal (Snake Eye) eyes .

Up until the most recent Mack Snows from this project hatched with normal eyes all had hatched with solid black (Eclipsed) eyes. I'm theorizing that the ones that hatch with solid black (Eclipsed) eyes are definite heterozygous for the Blizzard gene and those with normal eyes are of course, non heterozygous.

Obviously the gene is represented stronger in homozygous Blizzards than the Mack Snows heterozygous Blizzard; that could explain why the Mack Snow's eyes fade. Furthermore, it seems Mack Snow Blizzards from "Snake Eye/Eclipsed" line parents are more likely to have solid black (Eclipsed) eyes.

* I use the term Eclipsed here rather than "Eclipse" to differentiate these geckos from the actual "Eclipse" morph. I could have nixed the word completely, but so many associate it with the Blizzard eye gene as it does compare to the eyes of the latter morph. I wanted to keep everyone on the same page...
