Blizzard

Hello All,
I bought a gecko off craigslist about 6 months ago. I was told it is a blizzard and my research seems to confirm this. I have learned that blizzard is a recessive trait. Is it safe to assume that my gecko is Blizzard HET Nothing? Or could there still be hidden genes that will "muddy" the gene pool if I decided to breed him in the future? I understand why keeping track of this is important for serious breeders. He also seems to have half snake eyes? I will post a picture soon.

Thanks in advance!

One trait Blizzards can have is eclipse or snake eyes. This happens without the actual Eclipse gene.
As far as any hidden genetics/hets, it is very likely the animal has other genetics. The odds of buying a pure Blizzard on Craigslist is probably slim at best.

I would recommend keeping this animal as a pet only and investing in animals with known genetics (including any hets) if you should decide to breed. Craigslist animals are not breeder animals IMO.

Make sure if you have any other reptiles that you quarantine this animal for at least 60 days to make sure it does not have any illness or other issues.

I have to agree with SC geckos that the odds of a gecko being sold on Craigslist and being pure blizzard, or anything else for that matter, is extremely slim.
