Blizzards and there color

So I know that they change from white to a cloudy grayish. My question is what makes them change? Temps, lights, food etc... thanks.

Temps and their mood (sick/gravid/healthy) can cause them to change hues, hence their nick-name "mood geckos". I don't think diet or lights really matter when it comes to this.
