There is a thread in "hatchlings" with a baby that is just bloated all over. Anyone that have had this happen to older leos (not just hatchlings)? I have a male leo, about 13 years old, and his belly has started to look "bloated", as if there is some liquid inside, the last week. It isn't bulging out of the body, but I can see that it isn't right for him, and it has bloated visibly more the last couple of days. He is not impacted or eating sand or something. He is living with a female leo about the same age. They have produced fertile eggs this year. He sheds without problems. He has poor eyesight since a long time, I think he is blind om one eye and has some sight left on the other. He weighs 44 grams, have lost 5 grams since before the last brumation/hibernation (dec2006). Never been a big guy. His tail is not skinny at all. As his eyes are like this he has some problems hunting, so we try to keep an eye on him so we're sure he gets some food. We feed them crickets and sometimes zophobas (superworms), dusted with calcium and once a week vitamins. They have access to calcium all the time. The heat gradient is fine. He is spending a lot of time in the moist hide, can this have anything to do with the problem? Does anyone have some idea what the problem is and if I can do anything to fix it? There is no reptile vet within a very long way from here...

Could the male possibly be a female with stuck eggs? Maybe he is impacted? I would check his poop (pretty nasty) for sand to make sure he isn't pooping sand.

No, he is not a female. He lives with a female and I have seen her lay eggs... Fertile ones, so he must be male, as she has never been with any gecko but him. And I have checked the poop (and yes, I know it was his as I saw him do it), no sand there, no undigested stuff either, looked just fine. The belly isn't hard either, just "bloated".
