Bloody Steaks

This morning I woke up to find the food dish flipped over and pushed out of the way. Where it was my leopard gecko had pooped. Surrounding the poop on the paper towel were streaks of red. Im assuming this is blood. I checked over her and there were no signs of blood on her. I thought she may have cut herself on the dish but there is no cut or blood on the dish. Should I get a fecal even though the poop is normal.
Thanks

Thanks, yeah, I think Ill just move the dish. Ill give her the night off feeding and let her relax. Hopefully she will be fine. The funny thing is she had no blood on her and her poop was clear.

I agree are you sure it was blood? Ever feed those really red insted of brownish meal worms? I'm not sure if they're artifically colored or why there's such a difference between mealies but maybe what you're seeing was just teh undigested (or underdigested) shell bits coming out. Also occasional GI irritation isn't something to freak about but something to monitor like you're doing... Ask yourself has she eaten anything in the last few feedings that might have been difficult to digest... then work from there, eliminate all possibilities of it just being a slight GI issue before running to the vet. If you think worms are to blame then by all means get the fecal done, for what they cost the piece of mind is well worth it esp. if it heads off a parasite invasion early on.

Also something to ask yourself is since this is a female, is she ovulating, just been bred, or just finished ovulating? Sometimes the hormone surges that come with ovulation or breeding can produce some wierd things out of our leos that are usually harmless but freak us out all the same.
