Well 2 quick questions but important ones....

1. I used dirt from my front yard garden bed that is fertilizer and pesticide free but im not sure if its good because when its wet its almost like mud at first when i try to moisten it for the eggs...is this ok? and also...

2. most people say as soon as they add the egg tray to the cricket container....the females imidieatly or almost immidiatly lay eggs! mine have only dug in it a bit but none have even tryed to lay eggs yet. Have i done something wrong or can it take time? and yes ive bought fully adult demals and everything so nothing wrong there

Thganks in advance.... leoluva95

Well to try to answer you a bit, the consistency I look for when making the egg laying container is just a bit moist. Nothing like mud. But then again I use coco fiber. I just mist it a bit. And about the females laying immediately, I put the container in and come back in about 3-4 days and find eggs. Sometimes I find the females sitting inside the container, but I dont stare at them too long, just place inside and come back in 3 days and you should have eggs, its really that easy. Also the eggs are extremely tiny, like grains of rice, so you might not be seeing them.

I would use something that has been sterilized like coco fiber or peat, by using soil from outside you are most likely bringing in eggs from a number of insects which may out-compete your crickets.
