Okay, so I have a 10 gallon tank with a screen top and I understand how to keep the crickets, but what's the best way to breed them? Also, where can I buy live mealworms? Can the mealworms be given regularly like the crickets or are they more like a treat? The local pet store and bait shop don't carry them. I've seen the "Can O'Mealies" but I thought they were just like dead and freeze dried or something?

Ok first no mealies aren't for a snack they are fine to feed as a staple food source. I prefer to feed mealies to my leos regularly and supplement them with crix. It's easier on me and the leos and cheaper as we have our own colony(took about 4 months but well worth it! Cleaner and quiter than crix too!) There are plenty of good sources for feeders right here on GF in the feeder section if you are looking for a reliable source. As for breeding crix I would look at getting a breeding kit online. This makes for a lot less headaches and aggrevation in the end. I bought one from here and it worked great. Hope this helps and good luck with your colony!!
