Hey everyone!

I just purchased some juvenile females about a week or so ago. I want to breed them, obviously not now but in 1-2 years and I was wondering what would make a great male to breed with them that I could get some wicked offspring this is what I have

Female: Hypo High Yellow Deisgner
Female: Mack Snow Albino
Female: Hybino

Thanks :)!

Without knowing which strain of albino your little ones are, it will be hard to make any recommendation. And without getting the information directly from the breeder who produced them, any guesses you/we make as to which strain they are will be just that... guesses.

Hello,

I have dealt with reptiles by mack for a while now. I wanted to get an albino from them for quite sometime but when I asked what strain of albino they breed this was there response. We breed both rainwater and tremper and have crossed the two breeds together for quite sometime and never had an issue. We cant tell you weather you will get a tremper or rainwater as we keep them all together. I hope this helps you out you can at least rule out the bell strain.

Thank you! So my Mack Snow Albino is either a Rain water or a tremper. Im Leaning towards Rainwater since there seems to be no evidence of tremper at all on her. I will upload closer pictures tonight so you can get a closer look. One thing that I do see looking a little different is she has one white dot behind each eye on top of her head. Which is beautiful but might show the sign of rainwater or tremper.

Wow. I dont even know where to start with that. Do you happen to have a screen shot or something from them that actually says they said that? If they do in fact breed the two strains together regularly, thats incredibly irresponsible.

If that is in fact true that they breed albinos in that way then please do not breed any of the geckos you have from them. The genetic waters are already muddy enough and the last thing we need is more of it.

They will be just fine as pets. And Im sure theyll thrive as such. But again please do not breed them. There are a lot of people that have spent a lot of time trying to clean up the mess some people have made and breeding those animals (without having test bred them) will only make things worse.

They are cute little geckos but if they do indeed breed the albino strains together there is no way to know which strain the geckos are, whether they are both at the same time or if they have genes for one or the other in their background (AKA hidden hets). Lots of folks will give you opinions based on their appearance but they cannot be sure. I agree with Paul that those three would be best kept as pets and if you're interested in breeding I would buy from a breeder that keeps good records and breeds only animals with known genetic backgrounds.

i second dr.carrot.

Keep them as pets and in the meantime get to know as much as possible about genetics, breeding, ... .
Then select a breeding group based on the outcome you would like And buy from a breeder that has good records and breeds animals with a good/known genetic background.

And of course keep track of it yourself when you're breeding :D

That is one breeder i would not deal with. A classic example of someone who doesn't care about gecko 'mutts'. All they're doing is muddying the genetics

Alright! Actually know that you say that I would rather keep them as pets considering there my first three leopard geckos ever. But I would like to by a male tnagerine soon. Whats a good mate with him?

Tangerines are some of my favorite geckos! I have a group of hypo tangerines (SHTCTBs) and sunglows (albino SHTCTBs) that I'm breeding now. I like the mix of both albinos and non-albinos as it gives a nice mix of offspring and I like surprises and variety :) You just want to make sure you know of any possible albino hets in the tangerine's background and make sure you only breed to that strain.
