Breeding mealies

I have a question about breeding mealies and their lifecycle.

After the larvae stage they become pupae.

But, when in the pupae stage, do it need humidity, food ?

Thanks

Just be sure to feed the mealies well before they pupate. I have found that when the mealies are rarely fed before pupating, a lot of them die before they turn into beetles. Possibly from starvation?

Most likely Steve.

Just sifted out at least 7000 tiny mealies from my beetle colony today! Already had 10k plus growing out and 3k plus in the fridge! So be warned breeding mealworms can get crazy, but if you don't mind taking the time to do it it'll pay off big time.

I was referring to the fact that just like hibernating animals if they aren't well nurished BEFORE going into pupation they likely won't survive until metamorposis.
