Breeding Question

I have currently 1 Female gecko and a baby I'm not sure what the sex is.

I'm going to a reptile show next month in Raleigh, NC and plan to buy another leo to mate with my older female, around the same size as her.

She is just a normal leo, but I was wondering if I have to buy one like her or can I buy any kinda of color/morph combo? I have done alot of research but haven't found alot on breeding colors/morphs etc.

I'm not looking to make money or come up with some fancy leo's just something cool as my personal hobby.

Depends on the type of morph. Albino's are recessive, and therefore will not show in a mating with your normal leo. But if you get something with a dominant trait it should show. Jungle should show, but I'm not sure exactly how line-bred traits work.

Look at that site. It goes over the different morphs (most of them anyway). Tremper Giants and Snows are apparently dominant traits that you could pull out of your normal. I think most linebred traits will show in that pairing as well, just won't be as vibrant.
So there you go, and someone else will come along and add to this I'm sure :p

Well I really like the Albino, but I have been looking up alot of the Hypo tangerine, but I am no expert by any means and I just want to make sure I get her a good mate!

I just don't want to buy the wrong thing, I will be asking tons of questions at the show but I didn't want to seem like a complete dummy, hehe.

Unfortunately with an Albino you have to have another of the same type of albino (or het for that type of albino) to get any offspring that will be alb.

I think you should just get something that is linebred. Like a tangerine or carrot tail or jungle or something like that.

I would see if you could find out what sex your lil one is and then get another gecko if it is male, then you could get another female and breed that male to the 2 females. If it is female then you could get a male that way you would have 2 females and 1 male

how young is the little one? Like literally a baby with a lot of fat needed for its tail? Or maybe several inches long with some fat to its tail but not quite the same length as your adult?
It's pretty much pointless to really try to guess the sex of your baby because Leo's generally don't show sex for a while. I would just wait for a while and keep an eye on its underside. If just above where it poops there are some little like spiney things appearing in a semi-V shape, it's male. Otherwise it's female. Another way to tell is that (if you feed your leo's right) your male will start to show more weight than the female. Males are larger (sexual dimorphism).
Just let it grow a bit and keep an eye on things.

Well I took a look at it tonight and I can almost see a "v" like looking shape right above the rim of the tale, but I'm not sure of the age it still has a skinny tale, the lady I got it from at the pet store didn't know much about gecko's to know the sex (part-time worker there) and the guy that breeds them is out of town.

It has a skinny tale, and really can't tell yet. I will most likely go ahead and buy a male at the show, since I already know I have 1 female.

Not really trying to make breeding them as money, just want to try something new and diffrent.

Well if you can see a V then it is most likely male is it like really showing or is it very faint?
It looks really faint, but when it moves a certain way it looked very much like a v, maybe ill stick it in a glass and take pics and someone can tell by it, I tried to turn it over by hand and it surely didn't like that. lol

That might help, but you mentioned he's still rather small, which means that sexing him/her might be a little difficult anyway. But, a pic might help.
