i introduced a new male to my female yesterday and almost right when i put him in her cage they started to go at it. i saw the whole thing happen so my question is should i leave the male in the tank or can i just put him back into his own now that i saw it happen?

Either way. It is probably best to put him back in his tank, this way he doesn’t pester the female.

You should start seeing eggs in the next 2 weeks and she will start looking very wide. If she doesn't by the 3rd week I would pair them up again.

It can take up to 4 weeks before you see eggs.


You can put them together one more time if you'd like. But no more than that, especially if she fights back the second time around.
