breeding silkworms

just got a bunch of mulberry leaves and want to give breeding silkies a shot, can anyone give me there experiences and any opinions or key tips to be successful. thanks alot

I already told you my thoughts in the other thread you started but.....

Just remember, once you start feeding them mulberry leaves they usually won't eat the chow. So if your going to feed them leaves, make sure you have a steady supply. I usually pick my leaves every other day.

hey!, thanks for the link and yeah I remember your post, I was going to pm u personally and ask questions but didnt know if I should or not, i went to downtown and I got an ounce of dried mulberry leaves my only concern is if they will it the leaves dry and not fresh, I have a steady supply of dry so hopefully...

*edit* i think im out of luck the site listed they only eat fresh BOOOO.

Yeah, they have to be fresh. But I'm very interested to know where you can actually buy dried mulberry leaves and what purpose they serve. I just go pick them for free...there's trees all over my neighborhood! California.....another reason I overpay to live! Lol!

aw man this sucks big time i was actually very excited the store had them. the main reason its used is for tea.. mainly to maintain sugar levels for diabetics atleast thats what i was told by the man that sold it to me...he said it was the first time he heard anyone asking if they had mullberry leaves for silkworm raising. your lucky id love to live in california...i might be lucky and have some nearby in a park i doubt it though.
