Breeding weight for giants?

I know that for normal-sized females a general rule for breeding size is a minimum of 50 grams and approx. 1 year (I usually wait until 60 grams, just to be safe). I am wondering if there is a 'general rule of thumb' for giants?

My giant girl (posted in 'show off your leos') is 6-7 months, almost 70 grams (hovering around 68-70 the past week) and almost 10" long. I am thinking that maybe 75-80 grams minimum for her?

Do the Giants and Super GIants breed at the same age as normal sized animals?


A # 13 - Yes. The male Giants are sexually mature in 90 days or less. The female Giants are best paired up at 7-9 months of age or 55+ grams

Wow....90 days for males? That seems really young. Do any of you breed males this young? I was always told 6-8 months and 45-50 grams......
any thoughts on this?
