I have been looking into getting a gecko and was leaning toward a cave gecko, but the local store has a briba which i liked. I was searching to find out any info i could on the species and i haven't found much. Does anyone have any experience with them or know where i could get a good amount of info. All i can find is that they are native to brazil, eat crickets, are nocteral, smart and like trees. Not tons of help. I would like to find info, at the very least, about temps and humidity. Any help would be appreciative.

Try Briba Brasiliana or Hemidactylus Brasiliana their scientific name(s) and the common name which I found out is Amaral's Brazilian Gecko. Here's a bit of information I found.

Amaral's Brazilian Gecko (Hemidactylus brasiliana) is a nocturnal gecko from the arid Jalapão Region, Minas Gerais/Bahia (Brazil).[2] It is a bluish-gray, oviparous tree-dwelling species, feeding on herbivorous insects and other invertebrates. It has immovable, or fixed eyelids. Being nocturnal, it has vertically oriented pupils. They have a life span of about 6–13 years and are sexually mature at 6–9 months old. They are about 13 cm long and 2 cm wide. They cannot change their colour. When attacked by a bird, they run in circles, confusing the enemy. When attacked by a ground animal, they climb a high tree, run in tall grass, or try to hide under leaves, rocks, and other things they can find. They are one of the smartest geckos on the earth, and are not endangered.

thanks ninja, i found the wiki thing but didn't think about looking up the region. good call. we shall see if they still have the gecko after i get the habitat setup. seems like a pretty rare species to keep as a pet. I wonder why? this might be an adventure.

well that is good to know. i on a certain level i commend Brazil to doing that. Otherwise you would get people down their taking all thier wild life. But yes on the other hand if they become engangered if the hobbiest was allowed to breed them, even though they would be captive at least we could keep the species going. but overall, i am saddened by this info. hmmmm. i guess i am back to the cave gecko. hmmmm.
