I plan on getting a bts soon. I know aspen is a good substrate but is the aspen snake bedding good?
Thanks.

Actually I'm told carefresh works quite well. I had kept mine on coconut fiber for a while, but when I found out he had mites I changed him to papertowels. Months later and mite free, he is still on papertowels. I would like to put him on some carefresh though, but seeing as my friend is going to take him off my hands soon, he will probably be stuck on paper towels until then.

Carefresh HANDS DOWN. its nice and soft it looks more natural imo. It also doesnt get in your BTS nose like splinters of aspen can. My BTS seems to love it.

Brown Bag of supersoil as long as the batch doesn't have wood in it or little green balls.

I'm not sure even with the guy at the zoo I think dirt was used with bark . . . Maybe ask on a Blue Tongue Skink forum. I have a link somewhere . . .
