Ok, am planning an enclosure for some leopard geckos and have found a really cool material that i would like to use. Its Bamboo plywood. check it out at www.plyboo.com. Anyhow, i was wondering, i know the leos don't have the suction feet like other geckos, but do you think a material similar to butcher block is porous enough for them to be able to climb the walls? I wouldn't think so but i don't want to use this stuff if I'm going to increase the risk that they are going to be able to get out...

i was planning on using slate tiles for the substrate. The wood would just be a base layer for the tile to go on top of. The sides however would be exposed wood. I assume from your answer that they would be able to climb these walls... Hmmm....

I have a converted bookshelf enclosure... the insides of the cages are like a glossed/finished wood and the geckos can't climb. The front is made of plexi glass and I use a carpet substrate with no problem.
