Last year I built my first home-made rack and it has done really well for me but with over 20 eggs in the incubator and babies growing like weeds-its time for another one. So after being inspired by PetVet, I went and purchased a nice book case to transform. I purchased this one from officedepot and it should be here on Thursday

I was going to make plexiglass doors and make it all pretty but then decided to just turn it into a rack. The book case is coated in melamine with 5 shelves. I work for office depot and we have one on display in our store so I took down some measurements and took in some tubs and found out that with 5 more shelves added in, this book case can hold 30 12.2qt tubs! I went to home depot today and purchased 5 malemine shelves and had them cut to match the size of the shelves that this book case takes. Im going to use a sander to sand down groves in the sides of each shelf to run flex watt tape and then cover the tape with tile to keep it from getting rubbed. Now I just have to wait for the book case to get here!
I will post photos on Thursdau :D

Got my book case today and began work. Sadly 1 of the 5 extra malemine shelves that I had cut at home depot was to long so I have to take it back and have it recut before this will be done. I ordered 34 feet of flex watt tape and another thermostat which have both been shipped so i should get them by Wednesday of next week :D
This is the rack so far! its the one on the right that is not full. when it is done it will hold 30 tubs
