Building Blocks

I have a few bins filled with wooden building blocks from when I was a kid (over 10 years ago). I never took them outside when I was young and for the most part they didn't get much use.

Are they safe for leos? Should I bother sticking them in the oven? The worst thing I can think that happened to them is maybe I sneezed on them ten years ago.

Can I hot glue gun them together to make a rock wall and some ledges, or will that not be safe?

Heres an idea of what building blocks look like if you've never seen them:

What kind of wood are they? Most hardwoods are fine, but softwoods like cedar and pine contain oils that cause respiratory irritation.

Cool, thanks a lot for your help! I'll post the finished results here when I'm done

One last question - the building blocks are smooth wood, so I'm assuming they won't be able to climb them very easily

What can I do to add traction to them? I was thinking of buying some mod podge sealer and sprinkling sand on the wood before the sealer dries
