Where do you guys buy your bulk mealworms from? Which company has the best quality for the price? And I have 2 leopard geckos so I'm guessing I will only need the 500 count around once a month?

I've found bulk orders for small amounts of geckos isn't always a good thing, maybe I just have bad luck keeping feeders alive, but when I was ordering 1000 crickets at a time for 12 geckos I wound up with about 400 dead in the end.

i am a cricket killer as well but mealworms and supers I can keep alive. Figure out how much your geckos eat a month and buy that. I wouldnt buy crickets in bulk though because they are a pain to keep.

That's because crickets die easy. Mealworms, superworms, and dubia roaches live quite a long time if cared for properly. Where as crickets, I can put them in 5 star hotels with tons of food, water, and room, and they still die.

I started ordering from Grubco and have been very happy with their mealworms and service, but for 500 it may not be worth it with shipping charges. You can buy 500 mealworms from Pet** fo 6.99. The other option to look into is a local reptile show. I do buy from my local show as well, sometimes getting waxworms or roaches.

If you keep them inthe fridge, they will last a couple of months. If you don't keep them in the fridge, the will still last you over a month, no problems.

Well if you put supers in the fridge, you'll never have to worry about them pupating because they'll be dead.

Keep superworms at room temp, and as long as you keep them together they won't pupate. To get them to pupate, seperate them.

Edit: Sorry, I don't know where I got superworms from... It took only a day or two before the 'large' mealworms started pupating.

My experience with Petsmart mealworms is about two weeks before they start to turn into little aliens :)
