David, look for the thin red veins.. this is how fertile eggs look at first, they still have some yellow to them, and eventually turn dark pink with time.. when you get eggs, if you see ANY pink in there after one full day, they can be considered fertile even though most of the egg is still yellow. If you look closely, you can actually see a bulls-eye
I think I mentioned this, but all eggs glow yellow if you candle them before they are a day old, because the embryo hasn't attached itself yet
AWESOME pic btw, I can't get any good pics of eggs being candled
o..i see the bulls eye..i think is it right inside the black circle in this pic.. (hopefully it doesnt edit itself and delete like it sometimes does for some reason)... Thanks for clearing that up Jess
Yup, that's it! and the "bulls-eye" is what you'll want to look for when you candle any egg that is 2-3 days old.. I can't remember the exact number of days, but I think by the 4th day (or so), you'll start seeing more veins besides just the little bulls-eye
Not to high jack the thread but I got a quick question.... my egg had a bullseye on top of the egg.... but then moved itself to the side and I believe it's dead now... Anything happen to you guys like this? I never moved the egg or anything cept to the hovabator. The 2 clutch I just got moved itself from the side to the top
