One of my girls laid two eggs on the 2nd, and when I first candled them I thought they were duds. They were completely yellow, when in the past I've seen a little red before. I candled them again last night and lo and behold, each one had a perfect bullseye. ;)
I love being able to take a peek inside like that! I think I'm learning more than my kids! lol

Sometimes the "bullseye" doesn't seem to be a valid way to determine if the egg is fertile from my own experiences. Sometimes, even infertile eggs had a little bullseye and yet remained yellow for weeks and eventually would cave in and go bad.

A factor to truly determine, like said from my own experience, is to wait a week after laid and then candle. If it glows red or you see a few red veins you're usually good. :main_thumbsup:
