Hey everybody, I'm still kinda new here I mean I posted on here once before but I think it was like three months ago.

Anyways, I had a few questions that popped up recently, first and foremost is WHEN is this gecko going to be big enough to use sand in his tank? I want to get the reptile carpet I have out of there, because even though his feet don't get snagged on it like they used to, sometimes his mouth does and it looks so painful it makes me really sad to watch.

Also, I don't have a moist hide? I have three hides, one on each side and one on the middle, and just recently I started sticking some wet moss in one of his hides but I'm wondering if that's even a big deal because he never goes on it and it seems like he's been shedding his skin just fine.

And finally, how much is okay to feed this guy? He's getting really really fat lol and he kinda just eats whatever I give him

Most people will say to stay away from sand period. Its just not worth impaction, etc, etc....if you are concerned about the repticarpet, switch it out with paper towel. Its super easy to maintain. Or you could use tiles. A lot of people use & recommend tiles.

How big is your gecko? If he's a juvie, you'll want to feed him as much as he wants, once they get older you can put them on. Regulated schedule if you think they are getting to fat.

The one gecko I have that has a humid hide only has one because he's had problems shedding in the past. My other gecko has never had a humid hide & is fine.

Thank you, and yes he is still a juvie. I will steer clear of the sand, I wasn't sure if the whole impaction thing was just for when they're babies. I hate the look of paper towel, but tile is something I'll definately look into because that seems like it would look alright.

Thanks a bunch man
