Buying Geckos Online!?

I might be buying a Leopard Gecko from a small online breeder. Actually I think she stopped breeding and only has a few females that she had that never really sold since her site isn't that big. She seems very knowledgable and is helpful on another forum I'm apart of, my question is what should I ask her before purchasing the Gecko!? What SHOULD I know as a buyer and the geckos nenw owner?

It's the first time buying a an animal online or from someone who has breed animals. When I was younger I'd pop into a pet store buy a pet and do all the research because I knew half the workers didn't even know what they were doing.

Do you members have any tips or any questions that I should ask?

I recomend that you buy a gecko from one of the awesome breeders we have here. Some of them might live close enough to you so instead of spending the extra money on shipping you can get a nicer gecko or even 2 geckos ;) All the breeders sites I have looked at here have alot of great looking geckos.

I got both my female Geckos from breeders on this forum and picked them up at an expo!! Its great for both breeder and buyer when there both on here. It relaxes the breeder cause they know you care and will getr updates. And you the buy are more comfortable cause the breeder will be only a PM away :)

Ask about how she houses them, the food she feeds, the suppliments she uses, wieghts/age/hatch date, the genetics behind them and QUALITY images with detail.

Look for any abnormality and if anything looks wrong, it very well could be a problem.

go to the top, find her user name in the member link, find her profile and click on the trader rating(for instance mine is the orange 12).

Read the trader ratings on that person and who made them ;)

If you're in NYC it would be worth it to meet up with Frank or Paul. They are both in Jersey & have incredible leos & are always happy to answer questions. (Sorry if anyone else is near her that i didn't mention, They are the only 2 i know of near NYC)

Thats why I like living where I am at lmao. Not too far from Marcia, Nancy, Debbie, David&Tammara or Julie Bergman. And as I am slowly finding out, there are a few more around like Kyle and Harold.

How is Julie? That's a name I don't hear too often...

I saw her about 2 weeks ago and she was doing good. She is maybe 35 miles from me if that. We had a big storm so she lost power for a day so she was going to get a generator. She also had some minor flooding so she was doing some cleaning. She has some pretty cool sunglow/tang crosses now.

Glad to hear that all things considered she's doing well. I actually bought my first gecko ever from her, heaven knows how many years ago.

Yeah I have bought 3 from her. My 1st leopard gecko from a breeder was Julie. If you look in my pics I have I bought Vince a Hi-Yellow lavendor from Julie. Vince was my 1st leopard from her. He is about 52 grams now.
