Cage Carpet

Hi

First off im new to this site so hello

My question is i have purchased some cage carpet and was just wondering is it safe to be placed straight on top of the heat mat? i have a wooden viv with wood chippings now so the heat mat is under the wood chippings.

Hi, and welcome.
On the heat mat. What are the instructions for use?
Do I understand you right? Your flooring is wood?
Are you doing away with the wood chips? or placing them on top?
So would the layers top to bottom be : Carpet/ Mat/ Wood floor????

Sorry i wasnt very clear.
I have a wooden viv at the moment with a heat mat on the base on one side of the viv, my substrate is wood chippings which are just placed on the heat mate. I have some carpet on order because i hear wood chippings arnt great, so im just wondering will the carpet be ok placed straight onto the heat mat or will the carpet get to hot? and yes i will be geting rid of the chippings altogether. So my set up will be wood floor of the viv, heat mat then carpet.
