ive just found out about these and was wondering if they can be used as a staple for my bearded dragon. ive read that they have a high calcium content and so you dont need to use any supplements on them and ive also read that you dont need to gut load them like other live foods.

at the moment my bearded dragon eats

crickets (not that often)
locusts (usually as a treat/something different)
dubia roaches (her main staple)

These worms are a great staple feeder. Calci-worms are a brand that you can find at the big box stores....skip those every time I checked those out they all were either dead or already turned in to flies.
A check out www.phoenixworm.com/ and http://www.reptiworms.com/ they are the same type of larvae form the black soldier fly.
Phoenix worms is located in Georgia and Repti in California I would order as close to home as you can especially because of the heat. When you get them you have to store them around 50 to 60 degrees F or just feed them off pretty fast. If you have a wine cooler thats the perfect spot for them.

They are a great feeder. HOWEVER the problem with them is alot of reptiles won't eat them. Order a small amount the first time and see if your reptile will even eat them.

true story ^^^ I should have mentioned that. One of my dragons ate like 3 and the other finished off the container.

Try super worms theyre the best worm out there for an almost staple for a dragon over 6". I feed dubia as a staple and supers 3-4 times a week for one of the meals.
