Hey guys

I'm new to the forum here. Been reading up on a lot about feeding and supplementing the little Gecko's :main_yes:

I don't as yet own any reptiles, but I am very keen on purchasing a Leopard Gecko and I just want to find out everything I can before I get one so I can take good care of it!

So I have a couple questions for the experienced ones out there about multi-vitamins, calcium and D3...

How often should I give them each one? If I leave a bowl full of calcium (without D3) in the tank, how often should I dust with calcium? I have been reading around and really haven't come up with a clear answer except for D3 (being once a month). Also which D3 supplement should I get, 400,000 IU/Kg or 22,000 IU/Kg? Also is it best to give each supplement by dusting the food I give them (including multi-vitamin?)? This would be my preferred way, but I'm not sure about dusting using multi-vitamin and D3.

I really have no personal experience in this, so sorry if I am missing any points. I just want to learn as much as I can before I get one.

Thanks in advance

I don't know if I am asking too much or if no one genuinely doesn't know ;)

I have heard that dusting the food fed to them everyday with Calcium is required and every second day with multi-vitamin. Also dusting with Calcium with D3 every second week? All of this including a bowl of Calcium powder in the tank too. How does that sound to you guys?

Hey bud. From what I learned from other guys on this forum is that you can leave a calcium no d3 dish in all the time. You can dust feeders every other day with calcium no d3. Once a week you dust with multi-vitamins. once a monthe dust with calcium with d3

Yup, you can do as fender said. You'll get variations from different people, but everyone is pretty close to the same method. I use repashy/t-rex leopard gecko dust. It has d3 and vitamins in it and I give that about once a week. That has been working for me for years.

So its different than with beardies? Because I've read people say about beardies that they used d3 like one a week. Or is it because leos and beardies are programmed differently?
