calcium craving

I put in a clean bowl of calcium in my giants cage and I guess he had a craving for calcium.

I had no idea what he was thinking here.

He then shook the bowl and calcium flew everywhere. You can see it all over his back and the cage, and continued to lick it off the floor.

Hm, maybe he wanted more?...or else he's trying a new method..calcium baths.

I have this "problem" with one of my leo too, he licks and then take bites at the calcium....can they have too much calcium?

Haha, I must have a girl. In the morning I can see tongue marks in the calcium. Once in a while there is a perfect footprint too.

You really can't overdose on calcium, any excess is peed out in the urates. But if your calcium contains D3 they can OD on the D3. Since our geckos are nocturnal there really isn't a reason to use calcium w/ D3. I was told to dust once a week with D3 for all my leos unless they are gravid then I dust 2 times a week.
