i accidentally bought a calcium with D3 is it bad? and should i buy one without D3 just to be safe?

Your leo will need Calcium, Calcium+D3, and Multivitamin each week. There are many options available for getting the proper nutrition. I still don't know if I have the best "plan" but I am using:

Calcium+D3: Monday
Calcium+D3 + Multivitamin (says to mix with D3): Friday
Calcium-D3: Every time I feed except Monday and Friday (which is everyday because I have hungry juveniles).

Note: They absolutely need the D3 and Multivitamins. However, too much of it and they will overdose. Most people put a small dish of Calcium-D3 in the tank at all times, just like a water bowl. They can access the calcium at their convenience and will not overdose on D3.

I have 60 watt day & night bulbs, but I don't ever use the day bulb. I really don't need the night bulb, but I like to keep the room dim, so I can't see them being active at night without the red night-bulb. The added warmth of the 60 watt night bulb helps to create the AIR temp gradient from 87 hot - roomtemp cold-side (72-75).

The "care guides" will give detailed instructions on how often/much to feed them. I have 3 geckos (all bought at same store) and are not eating anything. My wife's gecko (juvenile, 2-3 months old, about 15grams) eats 15-20 crickets as fast as he can find them everyday at 8pm. I bought another gecko 2 days ago...he is only 15grams (almost half of my wife's gecko-weight), and he ate 12 crickets both nights here so far.....that's all I put in there.

The mealworms are not the best staple food, but they are convenient to leave in feedbowls when the Leo's don't want to hunt. Also, mealworms are a little delicacy...a change from the "norm".

Juveniles eat daily, but when they grow up, their appetite will slow down so they won't be fed every day.

Also, be sure you read about "quarantining" new geckos for a LONG time (6 months or more) before you trust them to be healthy. :0
