Hi guys,

I'm looking for someone who has lots of experience with snakes to take my 4ft long striped kingsnake. I'm hoping to find someone who would keep him as a pet, not a breeder.

This is for pickup only. I live in Pasadena, CA just near the very end of the 110 freeway.

I got this guy from a girl who used to work at a *****. Apparently, when he was a baby he managed to escape from a display case and lived in the store for 6 months. No food. No water. Poor little guy. Somebody in the back office found him one day trapped in a a file drawer. He was injured where the drawer had slammed on him. The girl took him home and nursed him back to health. He is about four years old now and he still has a scar from the injuries.

He is a little bitey, so I would caution anybody looking to adopt him as a first snake. He eats 2 f/t large mice every 15 days or so. Sometimes more often.

This is his scar. It doesn't seem to affect his mobility in any way, but it has made me hesitant to give him food any larger than a large mice because it looks like that part of his body doesn't expand and stretch as far as the rest of him does. He readily will take mice one after the other, so it hasn't been that much of an issue.

This is my 13 year old sister. She really enjoyed interacting with him, but has since lost interest (she is also afraid that he might bite her). I love him, but I am moving and have to prioritize which animals I can take with me and since he already isn't getting the hands on attention that he needs, I think he is the rational choice.

I keep him in a 40 gallon tank. I would be willing to sell it with his waterbowl and rock hide for $150. Otherwise, I still have the 20 gallon that came with him and I would be happy to give that away instead (although I would prefer that he live in a larger tank if possible).

I'm not in a super rush to get rid of him, so he won't be going first come first serve. As I said before, I really, really care for him and would like him to go to the best home possible.
