Camo, our skittish female, has been watching me prep her food for a while now, but never would let me handle her.
Last night she was watching again, and I picked her up. She squirmed briefly, but didn't freak out! Then she licked my hand, and made her way, licking, up my arm. So awesome! But it got even better. After putting her back in the tank, I held my hand out in front of her, and she climbed on my hand like it's nothing! And she did that several times last night!! (I know, lots of exclamation marks, but it was so exciting.) I am so glad that she is getting over her fear finally.

Patience paid off. :)

That's great, Moppel! It always seems to take forever to socialize new/skittish geckos, but it is so worth the work! Camo will be your TV buddy in no time!

Yes, I think so too. When I was holding her earlier and I put my hand down in her tank so she could get back in her tank, she kinda "sniffed" her log tunnel next to my hand, turned around and then walked up my arm, trying to get all the way up to my shoulder. That's a first! Usually she can't wait to get back in her tank. She is a very good jumper, so I'm still very cautious when handling her.
