Hi, here are some pics of a hatchling (super hypo het blazing blizzard) when it hatched we noticed this mark as seen below, can anyone tell me what it is, is it likely to stay ( the gecko is now 3 weeks old) and is it some type of paradox???

Neato! I haven't seen anything like that before either, I don't think. I'd wait it out and see what it does. Looks like a neat one to keep an eye on!

In all honesty i am now becoming a bit worried i hoped there would be more people on here who would have seen this before and knew what it was, I am slightly worried and not sure if this is a good or bad thing??

Wow funky...I've never seen anything like that. I'd monitor for any signs of discomfort or illness.....is there any difference in the skin in the area besides color?

......perhaps the first "pied" leopard gecko?...

no not at all and it feels the same as the rest of her, she doesn't mind me touching her sides and she is the 6th baby from this pairing and although 2 of her sisters look the same but with out the white spot the other two are much lighter and look quite abit different.

It is an area of skin without any pigment. It is nothing to worry about... as a matter of fact, if it doesn't fill in with colo as she develops, it would be a fantastic breeding project! Just think... a piebald gecko!

one of the pics is of one of her sisters that look like her and the last two pics are better close ups of the white splodge. anyone any the wiser lol

hi yes that sounds great however you all seem to have alot more experience than us and in all honesty we wouldn't know where to start with this one, if it doesn;t change then yes a piebald gecko sounds great, it's a pity none of you are nearer to us.

The skin does look thicker there than on the other part of the body...maybe it's just an illusion. It's a neat gecko and a keeper for sure!

As for starting on a piebald project, breed it to a SHTCTB and then breed the offspring back to the gecko with the white spot to see what you get! I'll do it for you. lol.

It looks like pigment to me--if it were the lack of pigment, it'd be translucent or maybe even transparent. Definately keep us posted as this one matures...congrats! :)
