Hi, all! Newbie here, and I've got two ex classroom-pet leos I took off the hands of an elementary school teacher. They had a nice setup (tile substrate, undertank and light heaters, cold and warm areas, etc.) and they seem to be in pretty good shape if missing a few toes, though one (I'm told the considerably older one of the pair) seems to be a bit of a difficult eater.
Just noticed while holding the younger one that it looks like he's got a bit of loose shed floating at the top of one of his eyeballs. I didn't notice it the last time I had him out of the cage a few days ago, so I think it's a fairly new thing. What's the best way to get it out? I haven't tried anything yet, as I wondered if he'd be able to work it out himself, like mammals can. I'm not up on the mechanics of lizard blinking ;D
If that's not a possibility, I'm thinking lightly squirt a little bit of water (or would contact solution-type saline be better?) to try and flush it out. Yes/no? Thanks very much!
