Can he regain his vision if the loss is partial?

So, I recently acquired a tremper sunglow who is "blind". I just realized that he can see light and dark! I found this out while I just now was feeding him with tongs. I eventually just started dropping them in because one that I dropped wasnt coated with cal/vits very well and appeared a bit dark on paper towels... He followed it! as soon as it crawled onto brown he lost it. With the white powdered crix he can only see them if they are on a dark surface, but as soon as the hit the paper towel he loses them.

I'm going to get some dark slate and see if that works so he can hunt on his own.

But my question is, do you think his vision loss could be a vitamin deficiency? I asked the woman I got him and another leo from if she gave them suppliments but she never responded back. (even though she said she would answer any questions I may have about them after I got them home...) I highly doubt she did since she obviously knew nothing about them.

She thought the little female (8-9mos) was a high yellow - shes a MP. And that he was a Sunset worth 1500... She kept them together in a 10gal with nothing but repti-carpet and a big silver bowl for water. She gave me a heat lamp with no bulb with their "setup". She thought it was okay to keep a 8-9mo old female and a 2 yr old male together - "They never tried to mate" - my ass... Lucky for the mp hes nearly completely blind. I cant be too harsh though because she IS running a dog shelter. She had just met with a woman who came from montana (I'm in washington) to give her a few dogs that she rescued over there.

Anyway, if it is caused by a vitamin deficiency, could he regain some sight with proper supplementation? Thoughts?

Are his eyes cloudy? If they are cloudy it could be a vitamin A deficiency, if so, take him to the vet and you just get cream to put in their eyes and it will clear right up. Thats my only idea.

No, theyre clear. Pupils react to light but are definitely always more dilated than other geckos in the same amount of light.
