Hi

I have a 2 foot x 1 foot x 1 foot aquarium that I am wanting to turn into a vivarium. It has a large hood on it that has a strip light built in (although it can be removed). I have started buying the rest of the set up - an under tank heat pad etc but I m not sure if I have to make a special lid or whether I can use the existing one.

I would be grateful for any advice anyone could offer. We have 10 days to make a home for a a 2.5 month old leo gecko.

Thanks
Cathy

Use the tank, but if the lid doesn't have good ventilation I would buy a screen top for it. You can get them at most pet stores in the reptile section

Yes get a screen cover to keep the tank completely closed. 12" is not much and if you feed crickets you may see one or two around the house. I went on Amazon and used OZBO to purchase 90% of my stuff. Shipping is like 5.00 for the first item and then the rest was really cheap. I had two boxes sent to me with the following and only pad 10.00 shipping.

Screen Cover for a 90g tanks 18x48
Temp Controller
Light Stand
Double Light Unit
Thermometers (3) Digital and one for Humidity
Moss
Large Cricket Keeper
