Do you have pictures? That would help us to understand exactly what you're talking about :) Do the tiles have a lot of texture to them? From experience you want as smooth as you can get...otherwise dirt and buildup is harder to clean from the tiles.

If you have a Home Depot in your area, they regularly are clearancing ceramic tiles (12x12s) for around $1 each tile. Cheap, and effective!

As long as heat gets through the glass and the surface doesn’t get too hot, I don’t see a problem.

You should also take into consideration how slick they may be. You wouldn't want to see a gecko go running across the cage and then slam into the side cause they couldn't stop..... even if that would be a bit funny I don't think they would appreciate it :main_laugh::main_laugh:

I would say use multiple tiles and then the ones that you have above the UTH use different tiles just to be safe cause of the heat from the UTH

my problem with "glass tiles" is if they are made of actual glass is that they can be really slick. And if u place them in the tank the heat trapped between the tile and the tank won't be able to escape causing a possible crack, thats if it's made of glass. if its a type of plastic is can possible melt.

I wouldn't use glass cause its slippery and i don't think the gecko would like it much, get repti-carpet its like 20 bucks and another thing with glass is that it may get way to hot from the heat pad

Actually, I've seen ones like that that have a somewhat rough surface, as though the glass had been abraded or etched.
