You can feed it nymphs.

my biggest hissers are around 13grams, around 3in and an inch or so wide. Nymphs would work, but they can climb glass or any container.

but you can just add a bit of masking tape around of the top of the cage/tub

You would want to use packaging tape to keep them in.
