Haha, I'm soo excited!! Just about six or so days ago, I candled the egg,and the light didn't penetrate the shell, so it didn't go through, so it was "blacked out." I candled it again tonight, and it's red/white glow! This shows that it'll hatch soon, right? I'm incubating at 83 degrees, and technically, it's the 61st day for the egg, as it's past midnight. Thanks for reading, please tell me if I'm right or not,

I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to egg incubation. However I think if the eggs look like that, fell right, and has been cooking for 61 days. That you definitely have a good egg. What was the pairing that you used? And, Congrats.

I used a HTCT and a Rainwater Albino, so I should be expecting the hatchlings to be normals het rainwater? Here's a picture of them-

Ah, thanks Harold! Hey, do you agree with Halley that glowing white is thumbs up? Just four days ago it was just speckles of red...
I don't doubt what Halley has said, I just would like a second opinion.
Thanks,

Well usually at the point you are in incubation depending on how calcified the eggs are you can actually see the shadow of the embryo. I have candled a couple of times and it reminded me of a sonogram.

I know the wait can be immensely difficult but I think that you should have a hatchling soon. My fingers are crossed for you.

I've always noticed that there is no red glow before the egg hatches.. this is because the veins of the embryo (which was making the red glow) have fully developed (as opposed to just being all over the place). Hence, why the red glow is no longer there, and it's more of a white glow :)

And the dark spot is definitely the shadow of the embryo.. you can actually see the stripes on the baby through the egg.. something like that is pretty useful for people that are trying to hatch out babies without stripes (like a super snow :p)

I couldn't see the stripes on the hatchling..but there's definetely a Leo in there. I turned off the lights and candled again. Does anyone have pictures of candling an egg that is close to hatching? Here's a picture of what I saw tonight, the black is embryo, and the grey is the white/red. It's a bit more red than what I thought...

It sounds like yours is getting ready to hatch soon.:) I can usually see a little bit of pink still before they hatch. But most of it will blacked out by the baby.
