Candling question

Hello everyone, sorry for all the topics, haha. I know candling is a bit of a touchy subject, and a lot of breeders say there's no point and to just be patient; but controversies aside, I have a question, haha. I've seen a lot of pictures of candled eggs, eggs sitting on top of flashlights even, and read a lot of threads now where people mention candling and re-candling eggs. I've also read that candling can lead to embryo damage or death. Keeping this in mind, I was wondering if anyone had any idea how long is too long when candling--and along the same lines, how frequent is too frequent. Being a first time Leo breeder, I'm very anxious about my eggs being fertile, and thus have checked. They were laid 3 days ago or so, and I've candled the past 2 nights to see if any progress or pink has developed (though I know this can take days to weeks). In candling I only have the light to the egg for a second or two max, fearing that I might damage the (hopefully) developing embryo. Am I being overly paranoid or is this an appropriate amount of time to candle? It doesn't give me much opportunity to observe what could potentially be seen. Also, is it damaging to have candled a couple nights in a row? Anywho, as always I've made this super long-winded, my apologies for that. Thanks a lot for your help ahead of time though--this board and you people are awesome :).

Cheers,
-Matt

i candle my eggs maybe once every 2 weeks but dont actualy move or touch the eggs i just take a led flash light and put it on them if the egg glows pinky-red its fertile if it glows yellow its not fertile but sometimes it may not look fertile and then look fertile a week later so i incubate all eggs even if there infertile
