Carpet problem Question

I added carpet to my sons gecko tank last night, every time he goes to eat a cricket his teeth seem to get stuck on the fibers of the carpet and he jerks back suddenly and rubs his foot on his mouth trying to get rid of the fibers left in his mouth. My other 2 leo's do not do this. I am afraid it is bothering him and may affect him in the long run. He stops hunting the crickets when this happens and has not yet eaten any crickets. I have already planned to use tile tomorrow but was wondering if anyone has had this problem with the carpet?

I have seen my gecko hunting crickets and get caught on the carpet. My gecko is just a baby and I hope that s/he will learn how to catch the crickets without getting caught. I've been watching closely and it seems that it happens every 3rd or 4th time for my baby. I plan on switching to paper towels if the problem doesn't solve itself by the end of the week.

I have carpet in my cage and did notice that she got caught so now I feed her in a seperate critter keeper. It makes it easier anyway because if she doesnt eat all the crickets than I dont have to catch them, and the less I have to touch the better!
